Finds identification day at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery
Finds identification or archaeological skills

Bring your archaeological finds for identification and recording by Vanessa Oakden (the Finds Liaison Officer for Cheshire, Manchester and Merseyside). This is the first in a series of archaeological finds recording sessions organised in conjunction with the Portable Antiquities Scheme. The scheme records metal, flint and pottery finds which are more than 300 years old. If possible, please bring along a grid reference/find spot of the object so that a record on the finds database can be made. Guidance on how to get grid references using both maps and computer mapping software/GPS etc. can be provided.
