Explore the History of the “Lady of the Vale”: Masonry, Monuments, Bells, Bottesford

A leisurely tour of St Mary the Virgin, Bottesford, led by Neil Fortey and Bob Sparham: a walk round the outside to look at clues to the history of this magnificent church whose graceful spire is visible for miles, then inside to get up close to the renowned monuments of the Lords of Belvoir and the Earls of Rutland, plus an optional visit to the ringing chamber of its eight bell peel. Suitable for all ages, disabled access (except the tight spiral steps to the ringing chamber). Tea and cake available courtesy of the Friends of St Mary’s.
